Well, let me tell ya, this here astrology oracle deck thing, it’s somethin’ else. Folks are all gaga over it these days, and I figured, why not take a gander myself? I ain’t no scholar, mind you, just a plain ol’ woman tryin’ to make sense of things.
Now, from what I gather, these decks, they ain’t like your regular playin’ cards. They got pictures and words, and they’re supposed to, you know, give you a nudge in the right direction. Like when you’re feelin’ lost and all, these cards are supposed to shine a light, or so they say.
- Some folks use ’em every day, just to see what the day might bring. Like, will the chickens lay eggs or will the cow kick over the milk pail, that kinda thing.
- Others, they pull ’em out when they got a big decision to make. Like, should I sell the farm or should I plant more corn? Stuff like that.
They say there’s these cards, the Major Arcana, or some such fancy name. Twenty-two of ’em, and each one’s got a meanin’. They’re tied to them stars and planets, ya know, the ones them city folk like to talk about. Each card’s got a story, just like us folks do. And they say each one’s connected to them signs, like when you’re born in the summer or the winter, makes a difference, they say.
It’s kinda like that tarot stuff, but simpler, like they say. Tarot’s got all sorts of rules and whatnots, but these oracle cards, they’re more, well, bendy. You can have a whole bunch of ‘em, or just a few, and they can be about anything – animals, plants, even just plain ol’ shapes. It’s all about what feels right to you, I reckon.
I saw one deck, had all sorts of pretty pictures, stars and moons and such. Said it could help you deepen your astrological knowledge. Now, I don’t know much about that astrology stuff, but it sounded right interestin’. You can just pull a card and get a little advice for the day, or you can do a whole big readin’, like lookin’ into your future and all. Sounds a bit like magic, doesn’t it? But then again, ain’t there a bit of magic in everythin’ if you look hard enough?
Then there’s this other deck, a study card reading deck it was called. Supposed to teach you the basics, the ABCs of astrology, like they said. Now, that’s somethin’ I could get behind. I always liked learnin’ new things, even if my brain ain’t as sharp as it used to be. They say it helps you understand them main things, whatever them main things are. Probably important stuff, though, if they’re makin’ a whole deck of cards about it.
So, are these cards the real deal? Can they really tell you the future or give you advice? Well, I ain’t no fortune teller, that’s for sure. But I reckon they can be helpful. They can make you stop and think, you know? And sometimes, that’s all you need. A little somethin’ to get your mind goin’, to see things in a new light. And if a pretty picture on a card can do that, well, I say why not? It ain’t hurtin’ nobody, and it might just help you find your way. And it’s up to you to make sense of it, like lookin’ at the clouds and tryin’ to see shapes.
Oracle cards can give you a boost when you’re feeling down in the dumps, like you lost your favorite hen or somethin’. They give you a little pep talk, a little somethin’ to hold onto. They help you see things clear, point you where to go when you’re all turned around. And that’s a good thing, ain’t it? We all need a little help sometimes, a little guidance along the way.
Anyways, that’s my two cents on these here astrology oracle decks. Maybe they’re magic, maybe they ain’t. But if they can bring a little bit of hope and light into your life, well, that’s good enough for me. And who knows, maybe them stars and planets got somethin’ to say after all. Worth a listen, I reckon, worth a listen.
