This here thing, this Kassandra asteroid astrology, it’s a thing, I tell ya. It ain’t simple, but I’ll try to lay it out for ya. Now, I heard some folks talkin’ ’bout it, got me thinkin’.
They say there’s these things, these asteroids, like big ol’ rocks floatin’ around up there. And this Kassandra, she’s one of ’em. Number 114, they call her. Discovered way back, 1871, by some fella, Christian somethin’ or other. Don’t rightly recall.
Now, this Kassandra, she’s tied to some old, old story. Some Greek story ’bout a gal, also named Kassandra. A princess, I hear! Pretty as a picture, they say. Worked at a temple for that Apollo fella, one of them gods they used to believe in.
Well, this Apollo, he took a shine to her. Wanted her bad. But she weren’t interested. So he got mad, cursed her, he did. Said she’d always tell the truth, know what’s comin’, but nobody’d ever believe her. Ain’t that somethin’? Imagine knowin’ everythin’ but nobody listenin’.

- Apollo, he’s the one that cursed her.
So, this asteroid astrology, it’s like, this rock up there, it’s s’posed to mean somethin’ about that story. About knowin’ things, seein’ things, but folks not takin’ ya serious. Like, you got this feelin’ in your gut, somethin’ bad’s gonna happen, but nobody pays ya no mind.
This Kassandra asteroid thing ain’t the only one, though. Got a whole bunch of these space rocks they look at. Ceres, Pallas, Juno, Vesta, them’s some others. Heard tell they was thought to be planets once upon a time, but ain’t. Still important though, they say. Each one means somethin’ different. Like that Juno, she’s about your dark side in love, they say. Shadow self, fancy words for somethin’ we all got, I reckon.
Then there’s this Chiron fella. Another one of them asteroids. Some folks say he was supposed to be the tenth planet. He gets a lot of attention from these astrology folks. They say he’s important. Some even look at other centaurs, but Chiron, he’s the main one they talk about. Heard of another one, Pholus. They say he’s about small things causin’ big things. Like a butterfly flappin’ its wings and causin’ a hurricane on the other side of the world, I guess. Sounds like a load of hooey to me, but who am I to say?
And there is this one called “spirit asteroid”, that shows how you can talk with that unseen truth that exists in your life. I don’t know what that means, but maybe it is important.
So, these astrology folks, they look at your, whatchamacallit, your birth chart. Where all these stars and planets and asteroids was when you was born. And they say it tells somethin’ ’bout you. ‘Bout your life, your personality, all that. This Kassandra, if she’s strong in your chart, maybe you’re like that princess. See things clear as day, but nobody listens.
They don’t put no symbols for these asteroids in your chart. Just write the name out, like “Kassandra”. I heard that, plain as day. If you can’t find it, you need to look harder, that is all I can say.
They use these other asteroids, too. To figure out all sorts of things. It is a bit too much for me. I mean, a rock, way out in space, tellin’ ya about your life? Seems a stretch, don’t it? But hey, folks believe all sorts of things.
This whole Kassandra asteroid astrology thing, it’s like a big ol’ puzzle. Lots of pieces, lots of stories. You could spend your whole life tryin’ to figure it all out, I reckon. I heard that that Kassandra asteroid was even in a movie one time. It was called “Meteor”. I never saw it, but it shows that people are interested in this stuff.
These astrology folks, they say they can use these asteroids in astrology to help ya understand yourself better. Maybe they can. Or maybe it’s just a way to make ya think about things you wouldn’t normally think about. Either way, it’s somethin’ to ponder on, ain’t it?
