Okay, so today I wanted to try out this “ex tarot spread” thing. I’ve been seeing it all over the internet, and it sounded interesting. Basically, it’s supposed to give you some insight into a past relationship, you know, like, with an ex. I figured, why not? I have a few exes, and sometimes I do wonder what went wrong or what could have been.

First, I grabbed my tarot deck. It’s a pretty standard Rider-Waite deck, nothing fancy. I shuffled the cards while thinking about my most recent ex. We’ll call him… Alex. Yeah, Alex works. We had a pretty intense relationship, but it ended kind of abruptly.
I laid out the cards in the spread I found online. It was a five-card spread. Each card was supposed to represent a different aspect of the relationship.
- The first card was about what brought us together. I pulled the “Two of Cups.” Okay, that makes sense. It’s a card about connection and partnership. We definitely had a strong initial connection.
- The second card represented the main challenge we faced. I got “The Tower.” Yikes. That’s a card of sudden upheaval and change. Looking back, yeah, we did have a lot of unexpected things happen in our lives that put a strain on us.
- The third card was about what I learned from the relationship. I drew “The Star.” That’s a card about hope and renewal. I guess I did learn to be more hopeful and to believe in myself more after it ended.
- The fourth card was about what Alex learned. This one was interesting. I got “The Hermit.” Maybe he needed time alone to reflect. Or maybe he became more withdrawn. It’s hard to say for sure.
- The last card was the advice or outcome of this spread. I pulled “The Sun.” That’s a pretty positive card, all about happiness and success. I guess it means that even though the relationship ended, something good can still come out of it.
After looking at all the cards, I sat there for a while, just thinking. It was kind of therapeutic, in a way. It didn’t magically solve all my problems or give me all the answers, but it did give me a new perspective. It was like having a conversation with myself, using the cards as a prompt.
I wrote down my thoughts in my journal. Just jotted down some feelings and observations about each card and how it related to my relationship with Alex. It felt good to get it all out.
Honestly, this whole ex tarot spread thing was a lot more insightful than I expected. I don’t know if I’ll do it regularly, but it was a good exercise. It helped me process some lingering thoughts and emotions. It’s definitely something you could try if you’re curious about a past relationship and want to gain a little clarity. Just remember, it’s just a tool for reflection, not a magic solution to get your love life fixed. You have to take action and make a plan based on your self-reflection.
Anyways, that’s it. Now I am going to make some tea and maybe watch a movie or some easy things. What a night!
