Alright, let’s talk about them tarot cards, the way I understand ’em, mind you, not all fancy like those city folk.
First off, you got your Major Arcana. Big shots, these ones. Think of ’em like the big bosses in a deck of cards. They start with The Fool, that silly fella, always jumpin’ before lookin’. Then comes The Magician, kinda like a trickster, got all the tools at his fingertips. Next up, The High Priestess, all mysterious and knowin’ things she ain’t tellin’. Following her is The Empress, big mama, all ’bout growin’ and nurturin’. And then her man, The Emperor, strict and bossy, layin’ down the law.
After them, you get The Hierophant, a teachin’ kinda fella, like a preacher or somethin’. Then, oh boy, The Lovers! Always a bit of drama there, ain’t there? Choosin’ and all that. Next, The Chariot, zoomin’ along, full of get-up-and-go. Then Strength, not just muscle, mind you, but the heart kind too. After that comes The Hermit, all alone and thinkin’ deep thoughts. Then the Wheel of Fortune, up and down, life’s a rollercoaster, I tell ya.
Now we gettin’ into the thick of it. You got Justice, fair and square, doin’ what’s right. Then the Hanged Man, lookin’ at things from a different angle, upside down and all. Ooh, and here comes Death, but don’t you go freakin’ out! It ain’t always bad, sometimes it just means changin’ things up. After Death, you get Temperance, mix and match, findin’ the balance, that’s the ticket. And then… The Devil! Temptation, tricky stuff, gotta watch out for that one.
- The Tower: Boom! Everything falls apart, but sometimes ya gotta clear the way for somethin’ new.
- The Star: Hope! Shinin’ bright even when things look dark.
- The Moon: Dreams, secrets, and things ain’t always what they seem.
- The Sun: Happy days! Good times and feelin’ alive.
- Judgement: Wakin’ up, seein’ things clear, time to make a choice.
- The World: Everything comes together, full circle, like a good harvest.
That’s the big shots, the Major Arcana. But wait, there’s more! You got your Minor Arcana too, like the everyday folks in the card world. They got four suits, just like regular playin’ cards, but with fancy names.
First, you got your Wands. They’re like fire, all about action, gettin’ things done, and havin’ the energy to do it. Then comes Cups, think water, feelings, love, and all that mushy stuff. Next up is Swords, like air, sharp and quick, thinkin’ and cuttin’ through the bull. And lastly, Pentacles, like the earth, solid and steady, money, work, and the things you can hold in your hand.
And each of them suits got cards from Ace, that’s one, all the way up to Ten, and then you got your face cards, like the Page, the Knight, the Queen and the King. They all mean different things, dependin’ on the suit and the number. Like the Two of Cups is lovey-dovey, and the Ten of Swords is like, ouch, that hurts! The King of Pentacles, now he’s a rich fella, good with money.
Now, why they’re in this order, I couldn’t tell ya for sure. Nobody really knows. Some folks say it’s got to do with some fancy philosophy and the four elements: fire, water, air and earth. Wands first, ’cause fire’s quick, then Cups, water flows, then Swords, air cuts through, and last comes Pentacles, earth is steady and slow. But, that’s just what I heard, makes some sense I guess.
The main thing is, each card has its own story to tell, and when you put ‘em together, they tell a bigger story. Like readin’ a book, but with pictures instead of words. You gotta use your gut and your heart to figure out what they mean. It ain’t always easy, but it can sure be interesting.
So there you have it, a little somethin’ ’bout the order of them tarot cards, the way I see it. Don’t go takin’ my word as gospel though, you gotta figure things out for yourself. That’s the fun of it, ain’t it?
Remember, it’s just a bunch of cards, but sometimes they can help you see things a little clearer, or maybe just give you somethin’ to think about. And that, my friend, ain’t a bad thing at all.
